Requirements of the Directee
to receive Spiritual Mentorship

The directee meets with the Spiritual Mentor once a month to share how God is moving in their prayer, ministry, work, and family life. The primary purpose for spiritual mentorship is to journey with the person, while encouraging them towards spiritual growth.

Prayer

Prayer is so important as it energizes the heart of a believer through the power of the Spirit and ultimately brings us closer to God. Therefore, the directee must be a person who is able and willing to pray.

Meditation

Meditating on scripture, praise and worship, spiritual reading, and conversational prayer are also some examples of nurturing your relationship with the Lord.

Journaling

Journaling about your prayer experience can further articulate your thoughts and give insight. When meeting with your spiritual mentor, sharing your prayer journal and spiritual experiences is helpful to discern how the Lord is moving in your life.

Butterflies transforming

Preparation for your spiritual mentorship session would include reviewing your prayer life and your prayer journal prior to each session. Remember to highlight the ways that you think God is revealing Himself to you OR where you feel dryness in your prayer life. Pay close attention to the areas in your life where you see God’s grace, but also where you are being challenged to grow. Being open and honest in your mentoring session will enable the mentor to best guide and direct you in your discernment process of seeking God in your everyday life.
